Characteristics of 1050 Aluminum

Characteristics of 1070 Aluminum


  • Even Higher Purity: 1070 aluminum has an even higher aluminum purity, usually up to 99.70%. This extremely high purity results in even better electrical and thermal conductivity compared to 1050 aluminum, further reducing energy losses in transformers.
  • Superior Ductility: 1070 aluminum has excellent ductility, enabling it to be drawn into very fine wires without breaking. This is particularly advantageous for manufacturing transformer windings, where thin and long wires are often required.
  • Good Weldability: It has good weldability, which facilitates the assembly of various transformer components. The welded joints have high strength and reliability, ensuring the structural integrity of the transformer.
  • High Purity Corrosion Resistance: Due to its high purity, 1070 aluminum has outstanding corrosion resistance, making it suitable for use in harsh environments where the transformer needs to withstand severe weather or corrosive substances.

Applications in Aluminum Transformers


  • Transformer Windings: Both 1050 and 1070 aluminum are widely used to make transformer windings. The high electrical conductivity of these alloys reduces the resistance of the windings, thereby minimizing copper losses and improving the efficiency of the transformer. The good formability and ductility allow the aluminum wires to be wound precisely and neatly around the transformer core.
  • Heat Dissipation Components: In transformers, heat generation is a common issue that needs to be addressed.
